The Tri5G consortium is composed of 11 core partners from business, public administration and academia.
Industry
The industrial companies represent the users of the Tri5G applications and are mostly supraregional or international. Companies such as BMW or DHL EXPRESS can use the experience gained regionally and the knowledge learned, for example about the required network and equipment configurations, across the entire group of companies. In the medium term, the stimuli generated by this will have an impact on the entire industry and can thus contribute to Germany as a location for innovation and business. The activities of large-scale industry can also play a role in the standardization of 5G applications in the medium to long term.
Public services
The collaboration of the scientific and industrial actors with partners from the public sector, allows a direct dissemination of the applied knowledge collected in the project. The public service partners pursue objectives that investigate and favor concrete innovations in the public infrastructure. In addition, an evaluation on the capability of the investigated 5G networks to meet the requirements of public services is carried out.
Science
The participating scientific institutions enable a high proportion of publications. This strengthens the regional and national science location. Particularly in urban areas, the participating institutions expect new impulses, synergies and research topics on how 5G technology can be used efficiently for further fields of application. A broad dissemination of results should also have a supporting effect.
SMEs / Startups
Regional young entrepreneurs enrich the ecosystem of the consortium with their innovative approaches and development focuses. In this way, Tri5G offers a platform on which large corporations can research and test development concepts for 5G applications in the northern region of Leipzig together with startups and small and medium-sized enterprises.
